Cindy Ferguson is a 34 year veteran of public education having served as a teacher, elementary school principal and MR/DD administrator, an early childhood consultant with the Special Education Regional Resource Center, and a curriculum consultant with South Central Ohio Educational Service Center. She currently directs the Children's Learning Center while teaching adjunct for Shawnee State University and Ohio University Southern Campus. While she majored in English and Special Education and acknowledges that content is important, she believes that "what we teacher first and foremost is children. They are our nation's most precious resource."

She is married to Ken Ferguson and they are in their 13th year in pastoral ministry with the Seventh-day Adventist Churches of Portsmouth and Manchester. She became a grandmother for the first time 6 years ago and with that new role was reminded of two things that she believes and practices with passion. First, there is nothing more important than caring and competent teachers, and second…as important as teachers are…the first and most important people in our childrens' lives are parents
